Weddings, Christenings and Thanksgivings

 

Here at Christ Church we love weddings, christenings and thanksgiving services. We love helping you and your family celebrating these important times for you all.

Christenings or Baptisms (as they are sometimes known)

These services take place on a Sunday at 12.30 in church. In this service we give thanks to God for your child and make promises on their behalf about what you want them to believe about the Christian faith. You can choose Godparents for them. The Godparents need to be christened themselves.

Thanksgiving Services

Sometimes parents are not so sure about making promises about their faith but want to say thank you for their child. This is the service for you. It can be in church or at your home at a time that it is convient for you.

Weddings

Getting married is an important thing in anyones life and here at Christ church we hope to give you a very special service and the begining of your special day. You will , with help, choose music and readings and make it very personal to you both.

You can get married on any day of the week ( yes really) at anytime of the year.  Weddings here can be big events or small ones. We have a church hall that can be hired for an after church event. Getting married should not cost the earth, be creative!

We also realise that sometimes the best plans for a life together do not work out and so we marry people who have been married before. We will need to ask you about it and see connected paperwork.
