Christians can't keep their faith to themselves!

Part of what being a Christian is about is the privilege of sharing the Good News of God's love through Jesus with others. This can be done is many ways, from a conversation with a neighbour to a commitment to serving overseas.

LOCAL MISSION

People in Christ Church try to be a 'witness' for Jesus in all their work, family and leisure relationships, but the church also offers additional opportunities for sharing faith in the local community through words and actions:

  • Visits to Vale View, Cleveland Square, South Field House and Bishop Alexander Court, (sheltered accommodation complexes)

  • Prison Fellowship (visits alternate months to Lincoln and Morton Hall Prisons)

  • Helping at local primary schools

The church also supports various local charities financially:

  • In Newark / Notts: Beaumond House Hospice Aid, Family Care, Newark Emmaus Trust Project
  • In the UK: Church Army, Prison Fellowship

OVERSEAS MISSION

Christ Church supports many agencies which work with the poor throughout the world:

Church Missionary Society, Christian Aid, Tearfund, Mission Aviation Fellowship and Compassion. Christ Church Mothers' Union members also support vital work being done world-wide by the Mothers' Union.

However, some Christ Church members feel the call to go themselves to serve God abroad. Here are two examples:
